ESDA is led by a small team of emergency clinicians working alongside local champions and international partners.

Holly Bannon-Murphy

Holly is an emergency and retrieval medicine specialist, also having worked as a trauma specialist in Melbourne, Australia. She has 20 years of experience working in low resource settings, inclluding in Ghana, Uganda, India and The Gambia.

Holly’s work has been supported by the ACEM Internationl Development Grant 2025.

JP Miller

JP is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with fourteen years’ experience working as an Emergency and Trauma Nurse, in both low and high resourced settings. JP has post-graduate qualifications in Public Health and Critical Care Nursing (specialising in research and international health). JP has a strong interest in international healthcare, systems improvement and trauma reception and resuscitation.

JP has worked in complex environments (refugee camps, resource poor settings, and areas of armed conflict) and to date has undertaken fourteen deployments with the IFRC/ICRC, seconded via the Australian Red Cross. His humanitarian work has taken him to South Sudan, Myanmar, Jordan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Syria and Papua New Guinea, and more recently the West Bank and Gaza. This year JP was awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal for his humanitarian work with Red Cross.

Libby White

Libby is a Critical Care Registered Nurse with a passion for emergency care education and development. She enjoys working as part of the healthcare team, providing a high standard to patient care in an often chaotic emergency environment.

With a dedication to life-long learning and growth, Libby loves a challenge! She has worked in several LMICs, exchanging knowledge and working alongside healthcare colleagues to support patient outcomes.

Libby is excited about being a board member and the Secretary of ESDA, working with like-minded healthcare professionals to promote emergency care. She feels privileged to be engaged with this organisation and looks forward to the successes, whilst navigating the challenges, that healthcare development brings.

Moussa Ouedraogo

Dr Moussa Ouedraogo is an Emergency Medicine registrar in Melbourne, Australia, training with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

Originally from Africa, he brings personal insight into the challenges of delivering emergency care in resource-limited settings, which informs his commitment to sustainable health system development.

He has a strong interest in global emergency care development, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, with a focus on education, capacity building, and collaborative partnerships.

Working in a high-acuity emergency department, he is experienced in trauma management, resuscitation, and acute care delivery, and values clear communication and teamwork.

As a board member and Treasurer of Emergency Systems Development Australia, he contributes to governance, financial oversight, and strategic planning, supporting practical and sustainable initiatives

Tim Amos

Tim is an emergency and retrieval medicine specialist (FACEM APHRM), currently working in Melbourne and Alice Springs, Australia. He has completed a Masters of Public Health and was formerly a civil engineer. He has worked on emergenncy and trauma systems development projects in India (Chennai) and The Gambia.

Elizabeth Lewis

Liz is a critical care nurse and clinical support educator and have been nursing for over 10 years with a background in Emergency nursing and passion for trauma and critical care. I have recently volunteered with ESDA in the Gambia and it was one of the most rewarding experiences.
